25/08/2003: IU online radio finishes testing... get your music on:Ron, IU

more news... back to home page...

The IrishUnsigned online radio stream has been successfully tested, and it has been a huge success. It's the best part of the site in technological terms.

Some of you will know that a version of the stream, for use without an internet connection, was included as a bonus on Scene Unheard , our first compilation CD.

The stream has generated interest from all sorts of places and material from it has been played regularly in the States and in Europe, where broadband is common and the stream is played in pubs, clubs, offices, stores, malls etc.

We are now looking to complement what we have. Currently there are over 11 hours of music (randomly selected for each listener) online. We want a huge amount more. You can get your material on the stream very simply and easily. And it's free.

The instructions are here.

If you can't do it yourself, or don't want to (cos you're scared of computers or have a very slow internet connection) then we will do it for you, but it will cost you for the time/effort needed to do it. It's €5 for any CD, no matter how many tracks are on it. We don't care what style or genre it is, but it must be recorded to a decent standard. However, we are aware that it is a 'demo' medium so we won't be muso-snobs on the subject.

Send a CD with a Cheque or postal order made payable to Ron Healy, and send it to IrishUnsigned, PO Box 8169, Dublin 6W. We will convert it and upload it to your site (assuming there is an email address where we can contact you to get the site access details).

If you have any queries on the matter, get in touch by email.
